We are proud to announce that our renovation of the First National Bank on Federal Street won the 2017 Master Builders’ Association (MBA) Building Excellence in Construction Award for Renovation Construction Under $10 Million. There were eleven other entries in the category. The MBA Building Excellence Awards are the highest and most sought-after commercial construction industry awards in Western Pennsylvania.
Each project is scored in the following areas:
- Project Teamwork
- Meeting Difficult Challenges
- Client Satisfaction
- Special Characteristics
- Safety
Safety and teamwork are always a priority on our projects, but they were especially vital on this renovation due to the challenges that were faced. The 1960’s era building remained occupied during construction and was located directly across from PNC Park. Despite the challenges throughout the project, the team was able to accomplish the renovation of an award-winning building. The project would not have been a success without the communication and collaboration between Dick Building Company, First National Bank, Design 3 Architecture and the subcontractors. We appreciate the hard work and perseverance from everyone involved.
The before and after pictures illustrate the successful transformation of the older building into a modern retail banking and office building.
It means a great deal to us to be able to work with such highly respected owners and architects and work alongside subcontractors who go above and beyond the requirements. We want to thank everyone for their hard work and support on the First National Bank renovation.
