Dick Building Company served as the General Contractor for the commercial building renovations to the Association for Iron & Steel Technology’s (AIST) offices in Warrendale, PA. Work on the 15,000 square-foot office began in January 2018 and was completed in the beginning of June 2018. Construction lasted for roughly six months.
The project was divided into two phases – one for each wing of the building. While our team worked on phase one, AIST employees moved to the phase two space. Employees then moved to the newly renovated space while our team completed phase two. Both phases had a similar floor plan with workstations, offices, conference rooms and a new collaboration space. The bathrooms and work room and the the HVAC and electrical systems were also updated.
The space features exposed ceilings giving the office a modern/industrial feel. New glass walls with sliding glass doors were installed in the offices and teleconferencing room. A suspended soffit wood paneled wall is featured in the collaboration space. All new casework was installed in the bathrooms and work room. The office receives a lot of natural light from the large windows and skylights throughout the space. The architect on the project was Design 3 Architecture. We have worked with the architect on various banking projects in the past, and we look forward to working with them in the future.
