This month, Dick Building Company will begin apartment construction at One Chatham Center in Downtown Pittsburgh. The adaptive reuse project will transform the office space on the fourth through eighth floors into 174 apartments. According to the original plans, the apartments will be broken down into 20 two-bedroom units, 94 one-bedroom units and 60 studios. The site is across the street from PPG Paints Arena.
The apartments will feature higher-end finishes such as granite countertops and wood flooring. In addition to the visual updates, all new plumbing, electrical and a new sprinkler system will be installed. The project also includes installation of all new windows. Amenity spaces currently include weight and cardio rooms, a yoga/pilates studio, a bike studio, a movie theater, a billiards room, a party room, a resident lounge, a business center and a dog wash room.
The apartment renovations are expected to be substantially completed in the spring of 2019. Philadelphia-based Core Realty is the building owner and the architect is Strada Architecture.
